While you research for an answer to the question: How do we combat erosion? it is important to remember that the science of erosion control crosses many disciplines and there is NO definitive answer. There is only opinion. The term expert has been floating through the public argument. We would all be smart to remember that there is an expert for each point of view. Scientific results are based on experiments. Experiments consist of the interaction of variables (controlled or not), the recording of observations and an opinion or conclusion based on the observations. Notional observations from a historical perspective are always valuable and should always be considered.
