The Lakefront Association was born out of a necessity to have a strong voice for those property owners and community members that feel that there is a lack of understanding within the community regarding shoreline conservation and protection. Property ownership comes with intrinsic rights and duties for the property owners. The Lakefront Association has a strong desire to promote its philosophy through its membership. Toward that goal The Lakefront Association developed four tenets which all members must agree to before becoming a member.
Our philosophy - to conserve and protect

Acknowledge and respect that private property rights exist for all property owners(and with those rights comes intrinsic duties).

Private
Community

Acknowledge and respect that community property rights exist and as such community input is required to utilize community owned land in support of a privately constructed project. (to find a balance between private property protection and community benefit)

Property
Access

Acknowledge that all private property owners and members of the public have the right to access the beach and waters of Lake Winnipeg and that all access points should be approved by the applicable authority to ensure sensitivity to safety and environmental concerns

Acknowledge that private property owners have the right to protect their property  when the project is contained within the boundaries of their property lines provided that the project does not unduly impact neighbours and adjacent community property.
