There are a multitude of examples of ongoing shoreline erosion around the south basin of Lake Winnipeg. The weather bomb of October 2010 did a tremendous amount of damage to the beach areas. This event precipitated the need to create a long term shoreline erosion control policy in order to preserve Victoria Beach for future generations.
